Web Developer Jobs with UCO-Chambers Library

Chambers Library at the University of Central Oklahoma has an opening for a creative, collaborative, knowledgeable, and highly motivated individual to serve as a web developer. This position plays a key role in working closely with the Systems and User Services team to design and implement web-based technologies to help connect our users to information and services that enhance the user experience of the library.

Reporting to the Director of Library Technology and Data Management, the Web Developer is responsible for designing and updating the library website, customizing the discovery system user interface ( Primo), administration of new libraries for campus partners, and creation of library-related APIs. service platform (Alma). These responsibilities require the use of web development technologies such as HTML, JavaScript, CSS, web scripting, SQL, CMS, APIs, graphics and related skills.

This full-time position requires:

  1. an ALA-accredited MLIS (or equivalent) OR
  2. a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information science, or a related field AND library work experience OR
  3. 4+ years of equivalent work experience in a chosen technology area that provides knowledge of and exposure to fundamental theories, principles, and concepts of programming and creating virtual spaces AND library work experience.

Salary and benefits

  • Salary starts at $57,203 and will increase to $61,203 at the end of a successful 6-month trial period. Generous vacation package of up to 52 days off/sick/holiday per year, including one week off for Spring Break and half a day on Fridays during the summer. UCO offers a comprehensive benefits package for full-time faculty and staff, which includes medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and gap insurance. We also offer contributions to the Oklahoma Teachers’ Retirement System and the ability to make additional contributions to voluntary 403(b) and 457(b) plans.
